Abstract

FOR both incremental and absolute visual thresholds the relationship between the threshold (ΔI) and the area of a stimulus (A) can be fitted fairly adequately to the equation : for conditions when1–3 : (a) the duration of the test flash is short ; (b) the test flash falls on a relatively uniform region of the retina ; (c) A is not too small and not too large.
