Abstract
A FOURTH class of immunoglobulins has recently been identified in human sera by Rowe and Fahey1,2 and has been named IgD. This class is characterized by the unique antigenic and physico-chemical properties of the H chain; its concentration has been found to vary between wide limits in different sera, but it seldom exceeds 1 per cent of all immunoglobulins.
