A Silver-110m Contamination in Scintillation Detector Shielding

Abstract

WE have recently completed the third of three similar lead shielding assemblies for sodium iodide (thallium activated) γ-detectors, used in conjunction with multichannel pulse height analysers. These equipments are used for the assay of biological and other samples arising from statutory monitoring responsibilities connected with the disposal of radioactive waste from nuclear sites.
