Abstract
AN amazing difference with regard to wasting following thymectomy has been observed between male and female hamsters; males showed severe runting even if thymectomized at up to 4 weeks of age, while females never runted at all1. No such differences have been reported for other species, though there may be such a difference for neonatally thymectomized rats (R. A. Good, personal communication).
