Distribution Patterns of Proteolytic Enzymes in Normal and Leukaemic Human Leucocytes

Abstract

PROTEOLYSIS is a well-known function of leucocytes1,2, but literature on the distribution of defined proteolytic enzymes in different types of leucocytes is scarce3–9. In this investigation, nine peptidases were estimated in normal and leukaemic leucocytes. Four of them (catheptic carboxypeptidase, leucine aminopeptidase, imidodipeptidase, iminodipeptidase) were demonstrated in leucocytes for the first time.
