Abstract
IN order to prepare an immune serum with a high level of antibodies it is usually necessary to use many injections of soluble antigen. Antigens adsorbed on aluminium hydroxide or precipitated with alumina are frequently used for this purpose. Especially good results can be obtained using antigens mixed with different water–oil emulsions usually containing Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG)1.
