Experimental Detoxification of Groundnut Meals containing Aflatoxin

Abstract

DURING work involving sterilization by autoclaving of groundnut meals containing aflatoxin, the hepatotoxic metabolites of Aspergillus flavus, Link, ex-Fries1, it was noted that an apparent reduction in the aflatoxin B1 content was induced when the normal methods of fluorescence assay2 were afterwards applied to the sterile meal.
