Abstract
FROM the initial results of their investigations about Diego antigen1,2, Layrisse and Arends supposed that it was a non-Caucasoid factor and related to the Carib Indians. Later studies on 2,600 Caucasoids from varied sources3,4 corroborated that hypothesis on account of negative findings. Studies made in 1956 on Chinese7 showed that the Dia gene belonged to Mongoloids rather than to American Indigenous.
