Magnesium Sulphate as Stabilizer during Liberation of Yeast and Mould Protoplasts

Abstract

LIVING protoplasts can be produced from yeast and moulds through treatment with snail or microbial enzymes1–6, and numerous investigations have made it evident that the removal of the cell wall does not affect to any large extent most of the biochemical and biological activities of the microbial cell.
