Abstract
IT has already been shown that radiation damage to chromosome is conserved for several months after an acute X-irradiation. Due to this, dividing of a dose into two fractions with a seven-day interval between them had the same effect as a single irradiation1–4. Similar results have been obtained by other authors5,6. Results of the induction of chromosome aberrations during chronic irradiation are presented here. Preliminary results have been published elsewhere7.
