Pre-ionization Phenomena in the Appearance of Some Polyatomic Molecular Ions

Abstract

IT has been shown elsewhere1–4 how the photo-ionization yield curves of ethylene and of some halogenated derivatives of the ethylene molecule can be interpreted by means of step functions resulting from vibrationally electronically excited states of the molecular ions.
