Abstract

COMPOSITE samples of Cox's Orange Pippin apples were picked from 15 trees at weekly intervals during September 11–November 21, 1962, for storage experiments. The maturity of the fruit was tested by following the course of the respiration ‘climacteric’ at 12° C by a simplified method previously described1.
