Isolation and Identification of Rhamnose from Rabbit Skin

THE presence of neutral sugars such as galactose, mannose and L-fucose in several animal sources such as glycoproteins or blood group substances is well known1 but L-rhamnose has not been previously reported as a constituent of mammalian tissues.
