Abstract
A QUADRIPARTITE structure of chromosomes has been inferred from certain anaphase configurations in mitosis and meiosis, such as the two-side-arm bridges found in irradiated meiosis in Uvularia1 and Lilium2. Similar bridges have been seen in endosperm mitosis3,4. Wilson et al.5 have clearly demonstrated the sub-chromatid nature of such bridges in Trillium.
