Abstract
CONSIDERABLE evidence has now accumulated suggesting that the thrombin-induced conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin is a reversible triphasic reaction which may be represented thus1: where F is fibrinogen, T is thrombin, ƒ is fibrin monomer, P represents non-protein nitrogenous material consisting primarily of two acidic peptides of molecular weights 1,900 and 2,400, and ƒn represents intermediate polymers where n and m are variable numbers.
