Abstract
THE direct antiglobulin consumption test using leucocytes or platelets1 is based on the indirect antiglobulin consumption test2,3. It has been found to give positive results with both leucocytes and platelets from about 90 per cent of patients with disseminated lupus erythematosus and 30 per cent of cases of idiopathic panhæmatocytopenia, but with platelets only from approximately 65 per cent of cases of idiopathic thrombocytopenia4.
