Abstract
THE pouch of the marabou stork (Leptoptilos crumeniferus (Lesson), was described by Peters1 and its nature investigated by Chapin2. Chapin concluded that the pouch was inflated by means of air from the left nostril being driven into a pair of thin-walled sacs in the neck.
