The lung-fish, Protopterus aethiopicus Heckel, constructs a nest in marginal swamp1, and the cat-fish, Clarias mossambicus Peters2, and the carp, Labeo victorianus Blgr.3, spawn in temporary streams which flow into the lake after rain.
