Hexagonal Modification of Black Chromium Electro-deposit

Abstract

THE formation of a hexagonal modification of an electro-deposited chromium has been discussed since the first announcement was made. In 1935, L. Wright et al. 1 determined the conditions for the production of the hexagonal form from chromic acid baths, and recently C. A. Snavely2 fully examined the structural characteristics of the electro-deposited chromium from chromic acid baths containing sulphate ion.
