CULTURE medium in which a Streptomyces (Strain No. 1415 of the Montecatini collection ; now listed as No. 3838 of the collection of the Institute of Microbiology, Rutgers University) had been grown was found to contain an antibiotically active complex of eight components, effective against Gram-positive bacteria.
