Abstract
DURING work on the dissociation of certain classes of organic molecules induced by electron-impact1, the field has been extended to some members of the carbohydrate series2. Using a newer technique3 we have obtained a spectrum of a polysaccharide derivative. A methylated polysaccharide—methylated laminarin—was chosen for this study, since previous experience4 has shown that methylated derivatives of carbohydrates are most suitable for this type of work.
