Abstract
IN the course of studies on Pasteurella haemolytica isolated from cases of ovine pneumonia and septicæmia it has proved possible to place each strain examined so far into one of two main groups which, though closely similar, are distinguishable by certain in vitro characteristics. The occurrence of two types as described in this communication appears to be a different phenomenon from the colonial variation of Past. haemolytica recently described by Biberstein et al.1. For convenience the two forms will be referred to here as T strains and A strains, and a description of some distinguishing features is now given.
