Hand-rearing of Rabbits


RABBITS that were completely free of coccidial infection were desired for experimental purposes. It appeared to be impossible to obtain such rabbits by normal breeding methods, as infection, usually very mild, occurred during contact with the doe in the nest. It was therefore decided to try to hand-rear rabbits which had been removed from the doe at birth.
