Abstract
THE three species of the genus Metastrongylus, M. apri Gmelin, M. pudendotectus Vostokov and M. salmi Gedoelst, occur in the pig; but the last has only been found in the Belgian Congo, the United States and the U.S.S.R. The two former species occur in Great Britain1; but opinion differs as to their incidence, probably because of a failure to recognize the rather inconspicuous lesions they produce in adult pigs (personal replies to a questionnaire).
