Abstract
IN the course of a comprehensive investigation of stacking disorders and polymorphism in zinc sulphide crystals grown by sublimation, we have encountered a new type of crystal form. The term ‘spiroid’ has been used for conveying the topological character of the habit, and to differentiate the phenomenon from the surface texture associated with a spiral dislocation mechanism of growth.
