Abstract
SOME Irish material of Aulacorthum solani Kalt. (Hemiptera–Aphididæ) sent in for identification to the British Museum (Natural History) in 1939 showed deviation from the typical form. Progeny from the specimens submitted showed marked variation. In one case a single apterous viviparous female was observed to produce two quite different larvæ, which afterwards developed into forms exhibiting accentuated differentiation.
