Abstract
PROF. D. H. HEY, professor of chemistry at King's College, has been appointed to the Daniell chair of chemistry tenable at the College from October 1, 1950, in succession to Prof. A. J. Allmand, who will be retiring at the end of the session 1949–50. Dr. Forrest Fulton has been appointed to the University readership in bacteriology and immunology tenable at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine from October 1. The title of professor emeritus hi the University has been conferred on Prof. C. A. Lovatt Evans on his retirement from the Jodrell chair of physiology at University College, to which he was appointed in 1926 ; and on Prof. C. B. Fawcett on his retirement from the chair of geography at University College, which he has held since 1928.
