Abstract
THIS book attempts to cover a wide field of organic chemistry in a small space, and much of the information contained in it is very condensed; the evidence the structures of terpineol (p. 46) and carotene p. 116), for example, is given too briefl to of value. In a discussion of the Beckmann transformation the authors mention that it is used for determining the configurations of oximes and correctly show the trans-interchange, but give no reason for this, nor any comment on the fact.
