Approximate Expression for Loss of Heat from Exposed Surfaces

Abstract

THE standard expression for the loss of heat from exposed surfaces by radiation and convection is: where H is loss in cal./cm.2/sec. ; E is emissivity (E = 1.0 for black body) ; and T1,T2 are absolute temperatures of surface and surroundings.
