Medal Awards of the Royal Society of Arts

THE Albert Medal of the Royal Society of Arts for 1942 has been awarded to General J. C. Smuts, Prime Minister and Minister of External Affairs of the Union of South Africa. In deference to General Smuts's well-known preference for brevity and simplicity the following words will be inscribed on the medal: “Statesman. Soldier. Scientist. Philosopher”.
