Abstract
EXPERIMENTAL tests on concrete are frequently of interest to the geologist, since concrete is a brittle material and possesses physical characteristics similar to those of certain rocks. Its behaviour under load, and in particular under breaking load, may therefore throw light on the interpretation of structural phenomena in geology.
