Abstract
MORE than ten years ago, Coster1 reported that he had carried out experiments with heavy elements for tracing X-ray characteristic lines due to the transition L1(2s) L2,3 (2P1/2, 2P3/2), but got no positive results. During the last ten years, a number of other investigators2 have also reported negative results.
