Δ9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) treatment inhibits cell proliferation and vascularization in xenograft tumors in SCID mice. Representative photomicrographs of tumors showing immunohistochemical staining for Ki67 (a proliferation marker, solid arrow) and for CD31 (a marker for vascularization, open arrow) in vehicle-treated control (a) and THC-treated (b) animals. The inhibitory effects of THC are shown as the percent change in THC-treated animals with respect to the vehicle-treated controls, which were taken as 100% (c).
