Abstract
MALARIA AS A DESTROYER. DESPITE all the knowledge gained by able and devoted men, despite the application of that knowledge in certain places, despite heavy expenditure, malaria remains one of the great killing and crippling diseases of the world. Let us consider some of the ancient records and see what they have to tell us. First of all, however, it seems fitting, in the centenary year of Byron's death, to recall the last lines from his "Destruction of Sennacherib "—
