Nature volume 114, pages 2728 (05 July 1924) | Download Citation

IN the joint discussion held by the Faraday Society and the Textile Institute at the British Empire Exhibition, Wembley, on June n, under the presidency of Sir Robert Robertson and Mr. Lester, a number of important developments of research on textile fibres was disclosed. The papers covered a wide field and dealt with the physical properties of cotton, wool, flax, and silk fibres. It is intended in this article to describe some of the points raised during the discussion rather than to refer in detail to the subject-matter of the papers, which is to be published later.
