Abstract
THIS is a mathematical problem which can be solved fairly easily, and the answer is that the stars must be distributed in distance according to a law shown graphically by the curve in Fig. IV. (The distribution of velocities h/√πc–h 2v2dv combined with the distribution of proper motions dr/a(1+r2/a2) – leads to the patial distribution 2a2h2re–a2h2r2dr ).
