Abstract
IN a recent consular report from the Netherlands, issued by the Foreign Office, reference is made to a Bill which was introduced in the Second Chamber of the States General, for the purpose of obtaining authority to carry out the works required for the first portion of a scheme for reclaiming 800 square miles of land from the Zuiderzee, and for raising the necessary funds, estimated at eight million pounds, the cost of the entire scheme being put at 15¾ millions. A translation of the Bill and explanatory memorandum of the Minister of the Waterstaat are also given.
