    Abstract

A NEW COMET(?).—The following is an account that was received through Reuter, and printed in the Times on Monday last, relating to a comet that was visible at Grahamstown. If the statement is correct, we have represented here something that is quite unique in cometary phenomena. It has still to be explained how it was that a phenomenon of such a nature as this was not telegraphed home at the time, and why no confirmation has been received from other sources.
