Abstract
IN previous numbers of NATURE2 some information has been given of the proceedings of the International Metric Commission of Paris, and of the progress of their work in providing new international standards of the metric system. The construction of the new standard metres and kilogrammes of platinum-iridium, which was entrusted to the French section of the Commission, is now approaching completion, and their comparisons with the old standards of the Archives and with each other will probably be commenced early this spring.
