Abstract

PROF. SCHÖNFELD, of Mannheim, has been appointed successor to the late Prof. Argelander as Director of the Observatory at Bonn, and will enter upon his duties on Sept. 1. Dr. Valentiner, chief of. the German Astronomical Expedition to Cheefoo, and first assistant at the Leiden Observatory, will succeed Schönfeld at Mannheim.
