Abstract
To the editor: We write in follow-up to your news article “Critics slam Russian trial to test pig pancreas for diabetes,” in which several statements were attributed to the president of the International Xenotransplantation Association (IXA). As the publication of this article has resulted in disapproving comments from advocates for the type-1 diabetes community, we wish to take this opportunity to clarify IXA's position on clinical trials of xenotransplantation.
