It is thought that differences in the neural circuitry within the prefrontal cortex might contribute to the different cognitive profiles in bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. To investigate this hypothesis, researchers in the UK have compared the cognitive profiles of patients with these neuropsychological disorders.
