Cardiac arrest accounts for 60% of deaths in ESRD patients and 30% of incident dialysis patients have had a serious cardiac arrhythmia in the 2 years before starting dialysis.1 Among those who survive cardiac arrest, 1-year mortality reaches 83–87%.1 Previous studies have shown that in the general population, the most important predictors of neurologic outcome and all-cause survival after cardiac arrest are hemodynamic and neurologic status on admission, and time to return of spontaneous circulation after resuscitation.2, 3
