A meta-analysis of self-management of oral anticoagulation

Maintaining the INTERNATIONAL NORMALIZED RATIO (INR) within the therapeutic range and ensuring the safety of oral anticoagulant use requires frequent and accurate monitoring. To address the lack of reliable outcome data for self-management provided by individual trials, Heneghan and colleagues used meta-analysis to compare standard monitoring of oral anticoagulation with self-management (self-testing and self-dosage).
