This report by Stender et al. provides crucial data supporting the use of statins for treating hypercholesterolemia and reducing the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with the MS. Ideally, statins should be at least as effective in MS patients as in patients without the MS.
