Early initiation of statins after ACS improves vascular endothelium function

Cholesterol lowering using statin regimens initiated soon after acute coronary syndromes (ACS) has been shown to improve endothelial function, although the time course of the improvement is unknown and the effect of treatment intensity has not been established. Dupuis et al. have reported the results of the Brachial Artery Vascular Endothelium Reactivity (BRAVER) study to elucidate these factors.
