Elevated levels of tumor markers in heart failure patients

Serum levels of the tumor markers carbohydrate antigen (CA) 125 and CA 19-9 are elevated in heart failure patients, and raised CA 125 levels are associated with increased severity of heart failure and the presence of pericardial fluid, a recent study has shown.
