Intravenous midazolam sedation for cardioversion

Hubner and colleagues in the UK have recently described a simplified cardioversion service that has significantly reduced waiting times at their center. They have introduced intravenous midazolam sedation in place of general anesthesia, so that an anesthetist is no longer required to be present during the procedure in most cases.
