Thrombotic microangiopathies

Thrombotic microangiopathies are a group of diseases caused by thrombosis in the microvasculature, they most frequently affect the brain and kidneys. Two prominent causes are thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura and haemolytic uremic syndrome.

Anti-complement-factor H-associated glomerulopathies

Autoantibodies against complement factor H (FH), the main plasma regulatory protein of the alternative pathway of the complement system, are associated with atypical haemolytic uraemic syndrome and C3 glomerulopathy.
