Spine regulation and structure
Spine regulation is the biological process by which the structure or function of a dendritic spine is modulated by factors such as neuronal excitation. The structure of dendritic spines is highly variable; however, a typical spine consists of a spine head that may be mushroom- or cup-shaped and a thinner neck region.
